Fertilizer Investment

Aug 26, 2021

Harvest is Approaching

Fall is coming and harvest is right around the corner, which means planning for 2022 fertilizer needs is not far away. It is no secret that fertilizer prices have sky-rocketed, and operations are going to be looking at tightening their budgets with rising crop inputs. Now is a great time to be thinking about getting your fields soil sampled to help mitigate the risk associated with rising inputs. Soil sampling will give you a better idea on what you need to key in on to maximize your 2022 yields.

How to Fine-Tune that Investment

Grid sampling is a great option available through CRC and Frontier Labs that will better pin-point farming the acre. Applying your fertilizer via variable rate allows better accuracy placement and investment in your fertilizer. It is typically recommended to have fields grid-sampled every four years. If you have fields that you know need to be sampled, reach out to your local CRC account manager to set up maps so the team can be as efficient for you as possible and be ready to roll as your 2021 crop leaves the field.
